Welcome Ride the Rockies Participants! We're thrilled you will be visiting us once again in Cortez, CO, the home of Mesa Verde National Park.
We will continue to update this website as new information becomes available, so please keep checking back. Our goal is to assist
you in whatever way possible to make your time here a memorable experience.
We look forward to your arrival and the opportunity to share our community with you. Our parks, trails, natural areas and preserves are impressive294 acres of them. We also have an outdoor pool and a beautiful recreation center with pools, a climbing wall, and fitness area. Enjoy our fantastic golf course, historic walking tour, a local winery, several local breweries, and incredible trading posts, shops and galleries.

2008 Ride The Rockies Events - Cortez

Ride the Rockies Headquarters Location: Montezuma-Cortez Middle School, 450 W. 2nd Street.
Outdoor lodging and indoor lodging are available at the school. Information Tents will be located outside.
SUNDAY LUNCH:-
Cortez Middle School Cafeteria: 11 am - 3 pm - Cost TBD

Baked Potato Bar with toppings, Chili, Ice Tea, Lemonade
Take advantage of your time in Mesa Verde Country® to visit the World Heritage Site of Mesa Verde National Park.

12:30 - Depart Cortez Middle School, transportation provided.
1:30 - Tour Cliff Palace, the largest Cliff Dwelling in the park, as part of a ranger guided tour.
2:30 - Visit the overlook for Spruce Tree House. Stop for refreshments and souvenirs at Spruce Tree Terrace.
3:00 - Depart for Cortez, returning by 4:00 p.m.
Tour cost is $30 inclusive, with a minimum of 14 passengers required. Additional vans may be added if there is sufficient interest. Tour must be booked in advance via credit card. No refunds unless cancelled by provider.

Musical entertainment for the Saturday Beer Garden will be provided by our Featured Musical Artist: Ralph Dinosaur and the Fabulous Volcanos, 6:30 - 9:30 pm.

Musician, gifted entertainer and armchair philosopher, Ralph always brings the party and good times. Ralph continues to surprise even his most faithful fans with a constantly evolving show.
Michael Parnell
A disciple of "The Erics"(Clapton and Johnson) Michael has thrilled Dinosaur fans and created his own following of Guitar aficianados.
Randy Wentworth
A member of the Oklahoma Sooner Pride Band and also a talented drummer and percussionist, Randy is a musical force to be reckoned with.
Ben Simpson
Ben Simpson is equal parts energy, technique and enthusiasm. A drummer who has played with a diverse roster of musicians, Ben keeps the band somewhere between frantic and redline.
